Has anyone heard of this organization, Higher Achievement? I’ve met some people who have gone through it in DC and I heard that they are trying to open an office in Baltimore.
]]>- On parent-teacher night they have about 5% of parents/guardians show up.
- Some students are allowed to hang out in the halls rather than go into class.
- There aren’t enough textbooks for the students.
- Some students graduate reading and writing at a 6th grade level.
- You have to have tremendous respect for the students who do excel in such a tough environment – where learning is secondary to discipline and “babysitting” unruly students.
- How does a camera crew not intervene while watching a boy beat up 5 girls?
