Personally, I just think Maryland crabs taste better. I do support the state's ban on the female harvest in the fall. Typically the female meat goes to packing houses and sent out of state anyway. Incidentally, early numbers from the crab harvest this year are way up. Whether that will continue through the summer is yet to be said. Here's to a healthy and delicious crab population in the Chesapeake Bay!

jeff,
what is the argument for selling only maryland crabs? is it that we are supporting our watermen? i have no problem with that.
but is it to the detriment of the bay that anyone would do so?
all i read is about the declining number of crabs in the bay, surely that is not caused by marylanders eating crabs from north carolina or beyond.

haha...I assure you I have no connection to the place. The crabcake recipie sounds like it might one of the kinks they need to work out. Incidentally, they also told me they would start serving hard crabs soon. They assured me that they would only serve local Maryland caught crab. Keep posting your opinions!

Disagree about the food. We went there last night on your recommendation. The service was great and the place seemed nice enough, but the food was medicore at best. The mussels app was very good but the crabcakes were nothing to right home about. Honestly not sure there is any reason to head back there.
