I was filled with so much pride watching the show. Baltimore gets trashed so much and it was wonderful to see it in a great light. I was talking to a RE consultant from NYC on Friday and when I told him where I was from he gave me a sort of "I am so sorry" look and said that Baltimore should try to be more like Philly. I know Philly enough to think of this as an insult or not, but of course my civic pride make me cringe hearing those words.

I got a chance to watch this program. It was great. Pretty inspirational seeing the people behind planning and making the Inner Harbor a reality - and seeing the pride they now take looking back on what they accomplished. It's amazing how influential our harbor front has been throughout the world. Literally dozens of other cities have modeled their waterfront after Baltimore's. Sydney's harbor - among others - look very similar. I was also surprised to hear how much opposition there was to building the two harborplace pavilions.
