Actually, the public housing of Lafayette Courts, now long gone, was apparently what kept Oldtown in business. It lost most of its customer base when the projects were razed.

Walking distance to Fells? That's quite an urban hike. Baltimoreans are lazy...we like to drive everywhere. And one thing's for sure - you won't find me walking around that area any time soon.

I went walking around there last year for the first time and was surprised to see it in such lousy shape. I think they recently closed a large public housing development nearby that was dragging the place down, so now it's ripe for development. This is really a central piece of property- within walking distance of Fells Point, for Pete's sake. I like hikes- I don't know if everyone would consider it walking distance?
