No one could beat the Ole Hobble Inn Corner of Ostend and Seargent. That place had the best Sour Beef to be had. Not to mention True Maryland crab cakes. The one gal that ran the place really worked hard to keep it going. Opened and closed the joint plus worked it. The little gal got a big head, sported money and then drugged it up. What a shame! I understand the gal that worked the bar mostly opened a success story In Delaware. So much for the good ole days when a cold beer and homemade coddies were the rage. Patrick's is a great bar, check their website for summer hours or call ahead though. And try out Italiano's (down Washington just past the park). It's open all night, serves breakfast all day, has great complimentary breadsticks, is a cop hangout, the menu is ridiculously large, and everything I've tried there has been delicious. If you want to hang out in a bar, try Carroll Station in the 1400 block of Washington Boulevard. New owners, super nice, and good food/drinks. For the best cheesesteak sub, try Carl's Little House at the corner of Ostend & Hamburg. Nick's in the 800 block of Washington Boulevard has a really good fried fish sub and rotisserie chicken. Patrick's and Quigley's are great, and Bobby's on S. Paca is nice if you like jazz. I think he usually has a jazz band on Fridays. For pizza, call Zella's in Hollins Market (they deliver to our neighborhood) or walk up there. They also serve beer & wine. Really nice owners, and their pizza is excellent. There's a new Vietnamese restaurant close to Zella's, but I haven't tried it yet. Welcome to the neighborhood! Yes, please do come by Evelyn’s (I own it) — it’s a nice place to meet your neighbors. Patrick's is nice. Good atmosphere, but it is kind of small and they close early. Food is great but moderately expensive. Other than that, I usually end up at Federal Hill as well. Maybe that will change eventually... Nedworrd – I live right by Bob’s but haven’t had the guts to go in yet. Patrick’s is nice. Good atmosphere, but it is kind of small and they close early. Slider's on Washington Blvd accross from Camden Yards is also a cool place.. they've pretty good food. And, for a great cup of coffee and muffin/lightfare, try Evelyn's on Washington Blvd (7th block). It's right across from the B&O Railroad Museum and is actually the oldest Irish Pub in the United States. I've always heard good reviews, but haven't been yet. Can anyone else comment on Patrick's? http://www.patricksofpratt.com/ I think Patrick’s of Pratt St. is technically in Pigtown. I'll make a mental note of that! Joking of course. Camden Pub too far? Hey – thanks for pointing out a good place for to find prostitutes. I’ll make a mental note of that! Joking of course.
