David Simon Rips Martin O’Mally a New One

I was reading this article on the Baltimore Magazine website earlier in the week and found it pretty interesting. I wasn’t going to mention it here, since it’s a bit off topic. But then again, so are many of my posts now… so why not. Plus I’m a big fan of The Wire. And it’s controversial, and controversy is good.

It’s on-topic enough for me. Given the amount of moola The Wire brought to the city, though, I can’t believe that anyone was ever serious about kicking them out. Also, I moved here from DC in the rosy honeymoonal glow after O’Malley’s mayoral win. Next to Marion “The bitch set me up” Barry, the guy looked like The Second Coming. He was going to turn the city around, and (to some degree) he did.
