I think that it’s great that they’re saving this great old building and turning it into a hotel. However, I question the viability of a hotel in that part of downtown Baltimore. I would think that at night it would be very desolate because there is presently nothing there that draws foot traffic and the proximity to the mega soup kitchen and the city jail and juvey jail wouldn’t entice me to want to stay there. Also that developer is sort of on the seedy side himself. There was an article in a recent issue of the City Paper about an unsolved murder of one of his colleague’s that worked at the now defunct Redwood Trust nightclub. Let’s just see how this all plays out and if anything is ever done there as proposed. I’d really be surprised if any of this gets off the ground but good luck to them for trying.

Killer headline! I’m w/ Hugh, though if there’s adjacent parking it could work out fine.

Yeah, I doubt I would recommend anyone from out of town to stay in that area of town… unless they planned on hitting Scores.
